i know that many flowers follow the path of the sun by turning their heads through the course of the day - sunflowers being the most obvious example - but i don't think that all flowers do so - so i think R K you may have to identify the flowers you have in mind... on the other hand i may be completely wrong! cheers, gwilym
There are flowers (other than sunflower) that turn their heads toward the sun. I could notice atleast four such kinds in my own compound, but I didn't know their names. Sunflower is so common that I didn't want to mention it. To that extent what mome says is correct. And, indeed, when I composed the haiku I had that 'religious' mood in the morning. I disagree with poet-in-residence, I think this is perfect as it is! It has a metaphorical, almost religious atmosphere.
